The CP Plus RTSP link
| Stream | Path after the address |
|---|---|
| Main stream (best quality) | /cam/realmonitor?channel=1&subtype=0 |
| Sub-stream (lighter) | /cam/realmonitor?channel=1&subtype=1 |
The full link looks like this (replace the user, password and address with yours):
rtsp://viewer:Str0ngPass@203.0.113.10:554/cam/realmonitor?channel=1&subtype=0
On a CP Plus NVR or DVR, change channel=1 to the camera's number: camera 4's main stream is /cam/realmonitor?channel=4&subtype=0.
Passwords with @ : / # ? must be written as %40 %3A %2F %23 %3F, or use a password with only letters and numbers. Test the link in VLC before adding it.
Camera settings
Most CP Plus recorders and cameras use the same software as Dahua. In the web page, open the encoding settings (usually Setting → Camera → Encode) and set compression to H.264.
- The link format above works for most CP Plus models; a few older or non-Dahua-based models use a different path. Check with ONVIF Device Manager if it doesn't work.
- Use a separate user with live-view rights only.
- The sub-stream (
subtype=1) is lighter and usually fine for a website.
Stream your CP Plus camera to a website
- Create a StreamLink account and click Add camera (or Add several for a whole NVR).
- Paste the RTSP link and press Test. StreamLink shows the video format it finds.
- No public IP or port forwarding? Choose push and run the ready-made command on a PC or Raspberry Pi next to the camera. See push mode.
- Optionally add a viewer password, working hours or copy protection.
- Copy the live link, or paste the embed code into your website (WordPress, Wix, Google Sites…).
Viewers watch in any browser, on phones and computers, usually less than a second behind real time.
Questions about CP Plus cameras
What is the CP Plus RTSP URL?
For most CP Plus cameras and DVR/NVRs: rtsp://USER:PASSWORD@IP:554/cam/realmonitor?channel=1&subtype=0. Change channel to the camera number and use subtype=1 for the sub-stream.
Can I show my CP Plus DVR cameras on my school or shop website?
Yes. Add each channel's RTSP link to StreamLink and paste the embed code into your website. You can add a password, working hours and limit which websites may show it.
My CP Plus DVR is on a 4G router. Will it work?
4G connections usually can't accept incoming connections, so use push mode: a small PC or Raspberry Pi on site sends the video out.
