StreamLink vs IPCamLive: an IPCamLive alternative

Both put an IP camera live on the web from its RTSP link. The difference is in what each plan includes and the currency you pay in.

In short

  • Embedding on your website: included on every StreamLink plan, including the free one. On IPCamLive it starts with the paid Standard plan.
  • Privacy controls: StreamLink includes a viewer password, working hours and website restriction on every plan. IPCamLive has a PIN lock on its Ultimate plan, and domain lock and an operation time window from Professional.
  • Delay: StreamLink plays over WebRTC, usually under a second behind real time, on every plan. IPCamLive lists its low-latency player from Professional.
  • Paying: StreamLink bills in Indian rupees with GST invoices. IPCamLive bills in US dollars.
  • Recording and time-lapse: IPCamLive offers them; StreamLink is live only.

Price for your cameras

For a camera on a website with a password and set hours, the features you need are on every StreamLink plan. On IPCamLive, a viewer PIN is on the Ultimate plan (US$45 a month for one camera, less per camera with more cameras).

With StreamLink, 5 cameras cost 5 × ₹499 = ₹2,495 a month plus GST, and 12 cameras cost 12 × ₹400 = ₹4,800 a month plus GST. Each camera includes 10,000 views a month. See pricing for the calculator.

When IPCamLive is the better choice

Choose IPCamLive if you need recordings kept in the cloud, automatic time-lapse videos, 4K or H.265 streams played as they are, face blurring, or ads in the player. StreamLink focuses on live viewing: it doesn't record, and it asks cameras to send H.264, which every browser can play.

Moving from IPCamLive

  1. Create a StreamLink account; the first camera is free.
  2. Add the same RTSP link you gave IPCamLive (see RTSP links by brand) and press Test.
  3. Set a password, working hours or allowed websites if you need them.
  4. Replace the old player on your website with StreamLink's embed code (how to embed).

Both services can run at the same time while you check, so there's no downtime on your website.

Questions

What is a good IPCamLive alternative in India?

StreamLink is an IP camera streaming service from India, billed in rupees with GST invoices. It includes website embedding, a viewer password, working hours and under-a-second WebRTC playback on every plan, including a free plan for one camera.

Is IPCamLive free?

IPCamLive has a free Basic plan, but on 26 October 2026 its pricing page listed website embedding, continuous streaming and video without its logo only on paid plans, from US$20 per camera a month for one camera.

Does StreamLink record like IPCamLive?

No. StreamLink is for live viewing and doesn't record video. If you need cloud recordings or time-lapse videos, IPCamLive offers them as paid features.

Can I use the same camera link?

Yes. StreamLink uses the camera's RTSP link, the same one most services use. If the camera isn't reachable from the internet, use StreamLink's push mode instead of opening ports.
